Infuriated, the invaders tortured him mercilessly, seeking to break his resolve. Gherasim remained steadfast in his faith, enduring unspeakable suffering rather than betray his monastic brothers or the sacred objects entrusted to his care. He was ultimately beheaded for his unwavering devotion.
