Venerable Confessor Sofronie of Cioara stood firm against the forced union with Rome in 1761. A simple monk, he rallied thousands of Orthodox Christians in Transylvania to resist abandoning their faith. Through peaceful protests and unwavering prayer, he defended the traditions of the #OrthodoxChurch against immense pressure. Despite threats and persecution, his courage inspired many to remain steadfast in their beliefs. He was eventually arrested and exiled but his legacy of faith and resistance lives on.
