A humble shepherd, Dimitrie lived a life of simple piety in Basarabi, Romania. After his death, his relics were discovered incorrupt near the village. During a Tatar invasion, a young girl had a dream revealing Dimitrie's relics were able to stop the invasion. The relics were moved to Bucharest, where they have been credited with countless miracles, offering solace and healing to the faithful.
