Born in Romania, John felt a deep call to monastic life early on. After years of pilgrimage and asceticism in the Holy Land, he settled at the Monastery of St. George the Hozevite. There, he lived in extreme humility and prayer, dedicating himself to serving others and seeking union with God. Despite his desire for solitude, his wisdom and love drew many to him for guidance. He reposed in 1960, and his relics are venerated today.
