Bishop Bretanion of Tomis, in the 4th century, faced Emperor Valens, an Arian, who sought to impose his heretical beliefs. When Valens arrived in Tomis, Bretanion refused to commune with him or his followers, leading his flock out of the church rather than allow it to be defiled. Impressed by Bretanion's unwavering faith, the Emperor eventually granted the Orthodox Christians their churches back.

May we, like Bretanion, stand firm in our #Faith and defend the truth. O Lord, strengthen us to resist falsehood and uphold your holy #Tradition. Give us the courage of our convictions and the wisdom to discern your will. #Prayer #OrthodoxChristian #Virtue
