Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a guard, were martyred in Singidunum (Belgrade) during Licinius' persecutions. Ermil openly confessed his faith, while Stratonic secretly remained a Christian. When Stratonic wept as he watched Ermil being tortured, his faith was revealed. Both were then subjected to brutal torments, remaining steadfast in their belief. They were eventually drowned in the Danube River.
