Saint Liviu Galaction of Cluj, a Romanian Orthodox priest, stood firm in his faith against communist oppression. Arrested in 1952 for refusing to denounce his beliefs and for his pastoral work, he endured torture and imprisonment. He was moved from prison to prison and continued to minister to the other inmates. Even in the face of death, he never wavered, offering spiritual guidance and comfort to his fellow prisoners. He was killed in 1952 because of the consequences of the tortures.
