Joseph was born in 1568 in Macedonia. He became a monk at a young age, renowned for his wisdom and piety. Later, he was chosen as Metropolitan of Timişoara. He was known for his charity, defending the Orthodox faith, and rebuilding churches destroyed by the Ottomans. After serving for only three years, he resigned due to frail health, and retired to Partoş Monastery, where he lived in prayer until his death in 1665. His relics are venerated there.
