The angel Gabriel appeared to a virgin named Mary, betrothed to Joseph, in Nazareth. He told her she would conceive and bear a son, #Jesus, who would be called the Son of the Most High. Mary, though troubled, humbly accepted God's will, saying, "Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." This acceptance, her "yes" to God, is known as the Annunciation and marks the moment of the Incarnation, when God became man through her.
