Iraclie, born into poverty in Basarabia, felt a deep call to monastic life. He defied his parents' wishes for him to marry, escaping to a monastery where he embraced asceticism and prayer. His humility and wisdom led to his election as bishop. During a famine, Iraclie sold all his possessions, even his episcopal vestments, to feed the starving. He was known for his tireless charity, preaching, and defense of the Orthodox faith.
