Venerable Onufrie of Vorona, born a peasant, felt a divine call early in life. Leaving his family, he sought monasticism. He joined the Vorona Monastery, becoming known for his strict asceticism, fasting, and ceaseless prayer. Despite temptations and trials, Onufrie's faith remained unshaken, performing acts of charity. He withdrew further into solitude, dwelling in a nearby forest, increasing the intensity of his spiritual struggles. People sought his guidance, drawn by his holiness.
