Venerable Anthony of Iezeru, in the 17th century, abandoned a life of nobility to seek God in the wilderness. He carved a cell out of stone at the Iezeru Monastery. His hands, though rough from labor, penned hymns of divine beauty, including a canon to the Theotokos. The spring he discovered, still flows, a testament to his thirst for God. Through fasting & prayer, he became a beacon of light in a dark age, guiding souls to salvation.

Holy Anthony, intercede for us! May we, like you, find God in the silence and serve Him with every breath.
