Theodosie, a Romanian monk from Brazi Monastery, lived a life of prayer and service. In 1692, invading Tartars demanded he reveal the monastery's hidden treasures. Theodosie refused, enduring brutal torture rather than betray his brethren and his vows. He was eventually beheaded for his unwavering faith.
