Hermes, a former soldier, stood firm in his Christian faith when Emperor Maximian demanded worship of pagan gods. Despite torture and imprisonment, Hermes refused to renounce Christ. Miraculously healed multiple times, his resolve only strengthened. Seeing these miracles, a judge and many onlookers converted to Christianity. Ultimately, Hermes was beheaded for his unwavering belief.
