Venerable Daniel, in his youth, entered a monastery. Later, he sought greater solitude, dwelling in a cave carved into a rock. Saint Daniel's most notable deed was advising Stephen the Great before a crucial battle against the Tatars. The saint told him to fight valiantly, assuring him of victory and predicting he would build a church in thanks - Putna Monastery. Stephen triumphed and fulfilled his vow, establishing the monastery.
