Epictetus, a priest, and Astion, his disciple, fearlessly spread the Gospel in Scythia during Emperor Diocletian's reign. Arrested for their faith, they refused to sacrifice to idols. Miraculously unharmed by beatings and wild beasts, they were eventually beheaded. Their steadfast devotion converted many.
