Joseph, born in 1568 in Macedonia, was a devout monk known for his ascetic life and spiritual wisdom. Before becoming Metropolitan, he lived in quiet contemplation at Partoș Monastery. Once, during a severe drought, the villagers pleaded with Joseph for help. He led them in fervent prayer, and a miraculous rain saved their crops. His compassion and unwavering faith made him a beloved figure.
