Venerable John Iacob the Romanian, after serving in monasteries in Romania, journeyed to the Holy Land. He lived a life of intense asceticism in the wilderness of the Judean desert and in St. George Hozevit Monastery. Known for his humility, obedience, and love for solitude, he dedicated himself to prayer and writing spiritual poetry. He reposed in 1960, and his relics were later found to be incorrupt, confirming his sanctity.
