In Moesia, during the reign of Emperor Diocletian, Saint Dassie, a Roman soldier of Wallachian origin, refused to participate in the pagan celebrations of Saturnalia, proclaiming himself a Christian. When ordered to defile himself by partaking in the sacrificial meals, Dassie staunchly refused, choosing instead to preserve his purity for Christ. For his unwavering faith, he was martyred by beheading on November 20, 304 AD.

Holy Martyr Dassie, intercede for us, that we may stand firm in our faith! #SaintDassie #OrthodoxMartyr #ChristianCourage #RomanianSaints #Moesia
