During the reign of Emperor Licinius, Saints Ermil and Stratonic faced persecution for their unwavering faith. Ermil, a deacon, was imprisoned and tortured. Stratonic, a friend and a layman, visited him in secret, offering comfort and encouragement. Both were subjected to horrific tortures, including being scourged and suspended. Ultimately, they were tied together and cast into the Danube River. Even in death, they remained united in their love for Christ. Saint Ermil, Saint Stratonic, pray to God for us, that we may have the strength to stand firm in our beliefs, even in the face of adversity.
