Hieromartyr Irineu, Bishop of Sirmium, fearlessly confessed Christ during Diocletian's persecutions. Brought before the authorities, he refused to offer pagan sacrifices. Despite pleas from his family and threats of torture, Irineu remained steadfast. He was beheaded for his faith in 304 AD.
