During a military festival in Durostorum, Martyr Dassie, a Roman soldier, refused to wear pagan symbols and participate in the idolatrous celebrations honoring the god Saturn. His refusal, grounded in his unwavering Christian faith, led to his immediate arrest and interrogation. When pressed to renounce Christ, Dassie remained steadfast, declaring his allegiance to the one true God. For his defiance, he was sentenced to be beheaded on November 20, 304 AD.
