Philotheia of Curtea de Argeș was a young girl who lived in the 13th century. Her stepmother mistreated her and sent her to work in the fields. One day, while bringing food to her father, who was working in the fields, she was murdered by her stepmother's servants because she was giving alms to the poor. Her body was discovered, and miracles began to occur at her grave. She is venerated for her piety, charity, and forgiveness.
