Martyr Sava, a Goth, lived in a village near Buzău. When ordered to eat pagan sacrificial meat, he refused, proclaiming his faith in Christ. Villagers, fearing the Goths, presented other food, claiming it was sacrificial meat. Sava bravely declared the truth, revealing their deception. Enraged, the Goths tortured and drowned him in the river Musaios (present-day Buzău River) on April 12, 372 AD.
