Venerable Dometie, in his monastic life at Râmeț Monastery, exemplified boundless mercy. He would often deprive himself of food and clothing to provide for the poor and the needy who flocked to the monastery gates. Once, during a harsh winter, he gave away all the monastery's provisions to starving villagers, trusting entirely in God's providence. Miraculously, the granaries were soon filled to overflowing.
