Hieromartyr Antim the Ivirian, a skilled calligrapher and woodcarver, revitalized Romanian printing. Despite his high office, he never forgot his Georgian roots, using his press to produce books in Romanian, Greek, Slavonic, and Georgian. Accused of treason and exiled, he was murdered by soldiers.
