Born in Moldavia, he yearned for monastic life early on. After wandering to Mount Athos, he struggled to find a community aligned with his strict ideals. Guided by a dream, he established a skete at Calapodești. Known for his asceticism and spiritual guidance, he tirelessly served the poor and sick. His prayers were believed to work miracles, drawing many to seek his counsel and healing.
