Philotheia, a child of just twelve, met her martyrdom. Her stepmother, consumed by malice, commanded her to give to the poor the food prepared for the household. Obeying God's call to charity, she did so, incurring her stepmother's wrath. In a fit of rage, the stepmother struck Philotheia with a spindle, ending the young saint’s life. Her relics are incorrupt, a testament to her purity and devotion.

Holy #Philotheia, intercede for us before the throne of #God, that we may have the strength to show compassion to those in need and be shielded from evil.
