Saint Joseph, born in 1568 in Macedonia, exemplified humility from a young age, entering monastic life at Partoș. Despite his initial reluctance, he was chosen as Metropolitan of Timișoara. He was a shepherd to his flock, and dedicated to building churches and aiding the poor. His wisdom and kindness touched many hearts. He asked to retire to his beloved Partoș Monastery, where he spent his last days in prayer and solitude. He died in 1656.
