Captured by the Soviets, he was pressured to join their ranks and denounce his beliefs. Iuliu stood firm, declaring his loyalty to God and his country. Enraged, his captors subjected him to horrific torture, culminating in his crucifixion. He was nailed to a door, enduring agonizing pain until his death, all while steadfastly praying.
