Epictet, a priest, and Astion, a pious Christian, lived in the 3rd century. During Emperor Diocletian's persecution, they were arrested. Despite torture, including being stretched on the rack and having their bodies scraped with iron claws, they refused to renounce Christ. They were ultimately beheaded. Their unwavering faith inspired many. Let us pray: Holy Martyrs Epictet and Astion, intercede for us, that we too may remain steadfast in our faith, and that God may guide and protect all those who suffer for His name.
