Venerable Paraschiva, as a young girl, upon hearing the Gospel read in church, felt a deep love for Christ. She gave away her clothes to the poor, leading her parents to search for her. She fled to Constantinople, then to the desert, living a life of prayer and asceticism until she reposed. Her relics, now in Iași, Romania, are a source of comfort and healing for many.
