On May 12, we remember #Saint John the Valachian, a Romanian soldier captured by the Tatars. Refusing to convert to Islam and defend their faith, he was tortured, beaten, and eventually beheaded in Crimea around 1662. His steadfast faith and sacrifice made him a martyr for Christ.
