In Cluj, 1944, as the city fell into chaos during WWII, Father Liviu Galaction refused to abandon his flock. When Hungarian soldiers sought to execute intellectuals, he negotiated for their lives. Arrested, tortured, and forced to dig his own grave, he was martyred for his faith, singing hymns until the end.
