Venerable Paraschiva, as a young girl, upon hearing the Gospel in church, was deeply moved and gave away her expensive clothes to the poor. This act, while demonstrating her early devotion, upset her parents who wanted her to keep the garments befitting their status. Eventually, Paraschiva fled home to dedicate her life to God, becoming a beacon of piety.
