On August 15, 1714, Prince Constantin Brâncoveanu of Wallachia and his four sons—Constantin, Stephen, Radu, and Matthew—were beheaded in Istanbul after refusing to renounce their Christian faith for Islam. Offered wealth and high position by Sultan Ahmed III in exchange for conversion, they chose martyrdom. Constantin, the eldest, was the first to be slain, followed by his brothers, each steadfast in their confession of Christ. Even eleven-year-old Matthew faced death with courage. Brâncoveanu, witnessing his sons' martyrdom, was the last to be beheaded. Their sacrifice solidified their place as saints in the Romanian Orthodox Church, symbolizing unwavering faith and commitment to Christ.

Let us pray to the #MartyrsBrâncoveni, that their sacrifice inspires us to remain steadfast in our #Faith, and to fear God more than worldly powers. May their example guide us on the path to salvation. #Saints #OrthodoxChristian #Prayer #OrthodoxSaints
