Born in 1816, Antipa left his village for the monasteries of Moldavia, then for the remote wilderness of Mount Athos. There, he became a disciple of the Elder Niphon. Antipa lived a life of extreme asceticism and humility, spending years in solitude and prayer. He was known for his ability to work miracles and heal the sick. One powerful story recounts how he miraculously saved a village from a cholera epidemic through fervent prayer.
