Saint Calistrat, born in Gorj, was a shepherd from childhood. Driven by divine calling, he joined Timișeni Monastery. Later, he became a monk at Vasiova. Known for his deep faith and miracles, he healed the sick and comforted the suffering. Villagers revered him for his wisdom and compassion. He reposed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of piety and service.
