Hieromartyr Antim the Ivirian, a Georgian born in the 17th century, was a theologian, calligrapher, and wood engraver. Captured and enslaved by Ottomans, he ended up in Wallachia, where his skill in languages helped him to excel and become a Metropolitan. He printed many books in Romanian, Greek, and Slavonic, thus spreading education and culture. His life ended when he was murdered for standing against unjust rule.
O, Holy Antim, pray that we may have courage to speak truth to power, and use our skills to glorify God. #OrthodoxSaints #RomanianOrthodox #SpiritualCourage #TruthSeeker #PrayForUs
