Venerable John lived in the 16th century. While praying in the Prislop Monastery church, he was struck by a vision of the Mother of God. She told him to live in a nearby cave. He did and lived a life of fasting and prayer. Many sought his spiritual guidance. He healed the sick and comforted the sorrowful. After his death, his relics were found incorrupt, emitting a sweet fragrance.
