Saints Nicander and Marcian, Roman soldiers and prison guards, witnessed the unwavering faith and miracles of Saints Paul and Marcellus while guarding them in prison. Moved by divine grace, they embraced Christianity, were baptized by the priests, and began to spread the Gospel. Their evangelization enraged the authorities, leading to their torture and eventual martyrdom. They were buried alive for their steadfast belief in Christ.
