A brilliant theologian, Fr. Ilarion Felea refused to compromise his faith under the communist regime in Romania. Arrested in 1959, he endured torture and interrogation. Despite immense pressure, he wouldn't denounce his beliefs or falsely accuse others. He died in prison on August 18, 1961, a martyr for truth and faith.
