One day, a group of Bedouins attacked his cell, seeking valuables. Finding nothing of material worth, they mocked him for his poverty. John, filled with compassion, offered them the little bread and water he had. Touched by his kindness, the Bedouins left him in peace, marveling at his selfless love.
