In 1760, during a time of religious oppression in Transylvania, Martyr Oprea of Săliştea stood firm for his Orthodox faith. He refused to convert to Catholicism, despite facing imprisonment and torture. His unwavering commitment inspired many to remain true to their beliefs. He was eventually martyred for his faith, becoming a symbol of resistance and devotion.
