Hieromartyr Antim the Ivirian, a Georgian, shepherded Wallachia as its Metropolitan. Skilled in languages and arts, he established the first printing press in Bucharest. His sermons resonated deeply, advocating for justice and the poor. In 1716, falsely accused of treason, he was exiled by Prince Nicholas Mavrocordatos and murdered on his way to exile.
