As they ransacked his house, they demanded he denounce his faith. Instead, Father John knelt and began to pray aloud, his voice filled with conviction. The officers, unnerved by his profound faith, left empty-handed. His bravery inspired many to remain steadfast in their beliefs despite the oppression.
