Emilian, a young man living during Julian the Apostate's reign, openly confessed his Christian faith and smashed pagan idols in Durostorum. Arrested and brought before the authorities, he refused to deny Christ. Despite threats and torture, Emilian remained steadfast. He was sentenced to be burned alive. As the flames consumed him, Emilian prayed for his persecutors, asking God to forgive them. His courage and unwavering faith inspired many who witnessed his martyrdom.
