Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a guard, were martyred in Singidunum (Belgrade) during Licinius' reign. Ermil boldly confessed his faith, enduring severe beatings. Stratonic, secretly a Christian, wept openly for Ermil. Revealed by his tears, Stratonic confessed Christ. After torture, they were drowned in the Danube.

Lord, by their prayers, strengthen our resolve to confess Your name, even unto death.
