St. John the Valachian, a Romanian soldier under Ottoman rule, refused to convert to Islam. Despite torture and imprisonment, he remained steadfast in his Christian #Faith. Offered wealth and freedom for conversion, he chose Christ. Enraged, the Turks beheaded him in Constantinople in 1662. His martyrdom inspired many to remain true to their beliefs.
