Montanus, a priest, and Maxima, his wife, faced persecution during Diocletian's reign. Ordered to renounce their faith, they refused, remaining steadfast in their devotion to Christ. Enduring floggings and torture, their resilience inspired many. Ultimately, they were drowned at Sirmium around the year 304. Their martyrdom became a testament to unwavering faith in the face of Roman oppression.
